Debaucherous Alchemy was born from the part of Johanna that was never going to be fully understood by everyone and stopped trying to be. What began in 2009 as Haus of Haunt, rooted in a deep love for the dark, the historical, and the beautifully strange, has evolved over nearly two decades into something more refined, more intentional, and wholly original.

Every perfume and scent in the Debaucherous Alchemy collection is hand blended by Johanna, with approximately 98% being wholly original formulas, created from scratch, found nowhere else. The remaining few are scents so perfect on their own that she chose to honor them as they are, but even those pass through her hands before they reach yours.

The bath and body line follows the same philosophy: made by hand, in small batches, using only the finest vegetable, fruit and nut oils, exotic organic butters, botanicals, clays and natural additives. The collection includes bubbling scrubs, sugar scrubs, whipped soaps, hand soaps, lotions, lip balms, bubbling and bath bombs.

All formulas are Johanna’s own. Her cold process soap is built on a carefully developed blend of six oils and butters,  a formula she has refined over 25 years and that belongs entirely to her.

Debaucherous Alchemy is inspired by real life and the things collected along the way; antiques, inherited objects, old books, vivid dreams, fairy tales, and a lifelong love for the Victorian, Gothic, Edwardian and Rococo. For the eccentric. The dark. The mysterious. The unusual. And above all else, a lifelong love for Halloween, the one night a year the rest of the world finally catches up. Johanna also lives among a carefully curated collection of haunted objects and haunted dolls, not for sale, not for display, simply because some things choose where they stay.

It is not for everyone. It was never meant to be.
